A Trusted Source
Hi! My name is Chelsi Krehmeyer, and I have worked as Family Medicine PA in Gillette, WY for the past 17 years. I currently work at Campbell County Hospital, but prior to that was working in a private Family Practice clinic. I have always enjoyed working in Family Practice, although challenging, I am able to really get to know my patients and form relationships with them. I know them on a personal level, and that makes all the difference when I am able to tailor their treatment to their lives and what works best for them. I often see patients whom would benefit from starting a medication like Ozempic or Mounjaro, only to be denied coverage by insurance. Those patients want a source they can trust prescribing their medication. I'm trying to help bridge that gap, and find a way to provide affordable, compounded GLP-1 medications.
I have a lot of patients ask why I can't prescribe their compounded meds in the clinic. Prescribing compounded medications, while employed by another provider, clinic, or hospital, involves lots of "red tape" as they are not FDA approved, and that liability may fall back on the employer. Compounded medications are perfectly safe to take, as long as they are obtained by a trusted compounding pharmacy, and prescribed by a legitimate, trusted clinician.
I routinely prescribe GLP-1s, like Mounjaro and Ozempic, for my patients, and I have seen lots of success with weight loss, as well as overall health. I have seen patients who have been able to avoid bariatric surgery, and lose more than 100 lbs! I have seen frustrated postmenopausal women, get back to the weight they feel confident and comfortable at. I have seen patients with a history of heart disease and diabetes, drop their cholesterol medications in half, and completely reverse their diabetes. There are so many benefits to GLP-1s in my practice.
